Robert Hunter, leader of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1967; Vietnam; reaction to the Gulf of Tonkin and Mansfield Resolutions in 1967; the Pueblo incident; and the Whitten Amendment of 1969 which proposed the freedom of choice as an acceptable desegregation plan.
